OBSERVER WRONG - No Special Treatment for US-based Olint Members
The headline and message of a recent edition of the Jamaica Observer read, "PRIORITY TO US OLINT INVESTORS". the article went on to say, "UNITED States-based investors in the Olint entities will get first bite when the funds are released, the US Government has said. Because this is a matter that was discussed with the US Administration when contact was initially made with the US District Attorney's Office, ACOM immediately contacted Elizabeth Medina, the Victims Coordinator Specialist for clarification.

She concurrred that the quote in the Observer that was attributed to her is accurate, but that the conclusion about priority treatment for US-based Members of Olint is inaccurate. ACOM is therefore reiterating that there will be no special treatment for any sub-classification of Olint Investors. US-based Investors will be treated on equal footing with Investors from other jurisdictions.
